This photo exhibition by Andrew Ross and Cody Ellingham explores the changing face of New Zealand’s capital city.

Opening this month, the photo exhibition tells of the displacement that occurred in New Zealand’s capital when the inner-city bypass was built in the early 2000s.

The Places We Called Home is an art exhibit displaying the work of photographers Andrew Ross and Cody Ellingham. Both artists photograph urban Wellington, but they differ in that Ross captures the city’s history while Ellingham focuses on its present state. Please read more below.

Opening on November 26, Toi Pōneke Arts Centre‘s free exhibition showcases the metamorphosis of Wellington’s inner-city neighborhoods such as Te Aro and Newtown. Ross’ black and white 1990s stills will be nostalgically paired with Ellingham’s moonlit photos taken within the past two years, providing visitors with a glimpse of how these areas have changed over time.
