zen shrine with salt lamp and palo santo. / sfgirlbybay

who else has been feeling rather stressed out lately? with our mega-hectic days it’s enough to make you wanna crawl under a rock and hide out for awhile — that’s not always an option, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find some chill time for a little self-reflection now and then. in fact, we owe it to our health and mind to do just that. urban outfitters invited me to go on the hunt for some pretty tools to get me in that zen zone, and i found plenty. when i want to relax at night, or even during the day, i burn lightly scented candles and often some incense too. i have bowl where i keep a jar of matches, pretty crystals and palo santo at the ready and light my pink Himalayan salt lamps for extra good vibes. put on some joni mitchell and i turn into a hippie of sorts, but hey if it works, i’m not going to knock it.

some of the pieces i put together for a zen shrine: Areaware’s Pillar Candle; jars of safety matches; Skeem Inc.’s Apothecary Match Jar; juniper ridge incense; Rabbit And Dragon Geo Incense Holder; and some small and large cement candles. add to that a Maryam Macrame Banner and you’re good to ooooommmm.
