today’s wear this there is kind of a 2fer – two cafes for the price of one. we’re headed back to new york today but this time to a couple of my favorite brooklyn neighborhoods — DUMBO (an acronym of ‘Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass’) and Williamsburg, also along the waterfront. and we’re in for some delicious-looking baked goods (one of each, please) and breakfast at either the original and very charming butler to-go in Williamsburg with its adorable pink dutch door and outdoor seating, or their new larger sit-down, full menu location with a view of the bridge as its backdrop. butler to-go serves just baked goods, including espresso from the good people at Intelligentsia, while butler bake shop serves a full-on seasonal breakfast in their cafe-bakery. either way, it’s hot in new york this time of year, so we’re going summer casual in our favorite black denim cutoffs, statement-making tee, anna sui bucket hat, and some very chic Fisherman Platform shoes. whilst scarfing down your pastry and supping your espresso i suggest reading 111 Places in Brooklyn That You Must Not Miss by the ever-curious explorer John Major. brooklyn is a city constantly shifting and changing and his insider’s alternative travel guide will inspire wanderlust even for those who call Brooklyn home with 230 pages and 111 fascinating places to visit.
