we’re popping back across the pond again when everything opens back up, to a city i miss very much! we’re headed to london, and specifically to brixton’s new pub canova hall, which once was originally the canteen for employees of Le Bon Marché department store which opened it’s doors way back when in 1877. one of the things i love about london is its old-world charm and canova hall has all that and more. the barcelona-based design firm red deer have kept the historic bits, old subway tiles, and aged patina and given this space a whole new life. and since it’s the holidays we’re getting gussied up to try out their gin masterclass — fancy a cocktail, anyone? i never get to dress up anymore, so tonight it’s a lacey stiched turtleneck and matching midi skirt, some dainty metallic ballerina shoes, and a cozy but feminine wrap to keep us warm. i couldn’t resist a bit of bling, so i’ve added some shiny earrings, stacked rings, and a fantastic clutch. i suggest taking along Not For Tourists’ Guide to London 2020 — their guides will take you to all the local spots off london’s well worn beaten path!
