we’re heading to new york city this week, specifically to one of soho’s prettiest coffee cafés, Felix Roasting Co. this stylish coffee house easily keeps up with the neighborhood’s energy and reputation, well-known for high fashion, and it fits right in. beautifully designed by ken fulk this locale (they have another spot in the nomad hotel) is comprised of Murano Chandeliers and exposed ceilings, eclectic aesthetics, fabulous signature wallpaper, and dramatic navy blue and pale pink velvety decor. it’s coffee, albeit on the fancy side, so while we’re dressing casually we’ll add a bit of panache with a fabulous blush-colored laminated trench coat, a sweet puffy-sleeved blouse topped with a navy cropped sweater vest, silk scarf, and our favorite flaired jeans. add a warm knit beanie, some comfy clogs, and pair them with some fun striped socks — cuz why the heck not? while you sip your fresh roasted brew, i suggest reading the very hilarious The Idiot by Elif Batuman. A portrait of the artist as a young woman and a novel about not just discovering, but actually inventing oneself, this story dramatizes the uncertainty of life on the cusp of adulthood in prose with a rare combination of tenderness and wisdom and wit. enjoy the trip!
