some things never change, and one of those is the beloved paris booksellers along the seine. essentially, it’s an enormous and very charming open-air bookshop that’s been a part of the parisian landscape dating back to the 16th century. les bouquinistes‘ stalls and their more than 200 vendors can be found along the banks of the seine, including on the right and left bank. with their iconic metallic green awnings, these literary and historic book kiosks have become an essential and cherished part of the city of lights, and one stroll i never miss. in fact, these are photographs from my many trips there over the years.

so, off we go in our book loving, smart girl’s best. i’ve layered us up in a chunky cropped cardigan, worn over a classic white oversized button-down blouse, and paired with a pleated mini skirt. add to that some adorable socks and the very on-trend (again) penny loafer, a fashionable checked trenchcoat, a warm cashmere beanie and a chic backpack to load up with our treasured book finds. no book recommendations this week — you can choose from the kiosks! and don’t forget your ‘well read’ lapel pin — it’s bound to be a conversation starter. oui, oui!
