okay, wear this there is just a little bit different this week. i am headed to paris next week for ten days so i thought it might be fun to share with you what i’ll be packing. i’ll admit it, i am a habitually horrid packer, as in i always pack too much. but, given the fact that i have a plane change and the condition of traveling these days, if i were smart, i’d only bring a carry-on. can i do it?  i just don’t know! paris is so fashion-forward i always think i need to fit in and tend to care too much about my ensembles over my comfort. so, can i do better this time? we shall see! we’re also dropping in at one of my very favorite shops, and cafés. it’s merci — a concept store where you can shop for not only french fashion but homewares, too. it’s kind of my home away from home in paris and if i’m feeling a little lost or overwhelmed i head to merci to feel comfortable and welcome. and i always dine in their used book shop café at least once while i’m there. or, i’ll also stop into their very charming le cine-cafe. the store always has amazing displays happening, usually around a general theme, so i promise, you’ll never leave uninspired.

i’ve got a lot of mix & match in black and white with a bit of denim thrown in here because it just makes it easy, and to be honest it’s mostly what i wear anyway. i am also a ‘roller’ when it comes to packing, and find you can fit much more in the suitcase and clothes stay more wrinkle-free. i also always pack this great Wrinkle Releaser spray that works wonders. i’ve packed some easy dresses, like this slip dress and for dress-up dinners, i love this sheer organza black trench. you can throw it on over just about anything and it instantly dresses you up, and it’s super lightweight. clutch purses are always great because they lay flat in the suitcase not taking up much room and you can dress them up or down. it’s paris and i love to walk, so comfy shoes only, and flat — sandal slides are perfect. i pack chinos in black and in white, a comfy pair of go-to jeans, a bunch of tees and tank tops, button-down shirts and a dressier top, and a black skirt. add some shorts (it’s hot in paris right now!) comfy white sneakers, a packable hat to step up your fashion game. i’m kinda crazy when it comes to traveling and i make a private pinboard of my outfit inspiration and a google doc with everything i’m packing, as well as what i’m wearing and carrying on the plane so i don’t forget anything! i list things like portable phone chargers, water bottle, passport — think anything you don’t want to be without. and really, most of what i’m planning to pack can be dressed up or down depending on the shoes and purse i take. i like to keep things nice and easy!
