okay kids, we’re hitting the L.A. nightlife this week and dropping into the city of angel’s latest hotspot, pinky’s in one of my favorite neighborhoods, los feliz. and why not, right? it’s been a while since we tripped the light fantastic so i rather fancy the idea of dressing up (high heels even!!) and trying out one of pinky’s delicious signature cocktails. los feliz is known for ‘old hollywood’ and it looks to me like pinky’s moody ambiance just nails that vibe. we’re going to wear a very feminine and flouncy pink print skirt but give it an L.A. edge with a chic black tank and some sexy strappy sandals. we’re even going to go way over the top and walk in with our very own tulle boa and add a touch of noir with some dark painted nails. before you head out for the evening i highly recommend reading the white album by joan didion — some very enlightened essays recording the upheavals and aftermaths of the 1960s, examining historical events, figures, and trends of the era―including charles manson, the doors, and the black panthers. a classic L.A. read and the perfect conversation starter as you belly up to this pretty bar.
