AJC
Dua Green and Duncan Corrigall have joined the ownership team, taking up their positions alongside the continuing directors Michael Heenan, Brian Mariotti and John Whittingham. Green has extensive experience in education design, while Corrigall has been a leader in master planning and project advocacy.
“It feels fantastic to join the ownership team, and I’m excited for what that represents: urban design becoming one of the foundational pillars of AJC. The Urban team at AJC is world-class, and we have some city changing projects ahead of us,” says Corrigall.
Green adds: “Understanding the way discovery and play contribute to learning at different ages is critical to a good outcome, both in terms of design and education. It’s always a dialogue. We’ve completed some truly inspiring projects recently that are already delivering exceptional outcomes for these schools.”
Architectus
It’s been a highly productive period at , beginning with the announcement of an expansion into landscape design expertise. A number of leading landscape architects have joined the practice’s Urban Futures team, led by Esther Dickins who joins after having worked as a director throughout Australia, Asia and the Middle East at Scott Carver. Based in the Architectus Sydney studio, the team will collaborate on projects nationally and the new arrivals include Ashleigh Casserly and Ryan Aldrich, who have both been appointed Associates.
Meanwhile, following the merger with , a record 55 new promotions have been announced as well as four new leaders taking up positions as Principals. Basil Richardson and Terry Braddock have joined the education sector, while Sannah McColl and Rebecca Daff step into the health and interior architecture teams. The Public sector also welcomes Will Pritchard as Associate Principal.

EM BE CE
A Sydney practice very much on the rise, has announced six promotions across the team. They will continue to work alongside founders, Ben Green, Chi Melhem and Mladen Prnjatovic in the two-year-old practice as it continues to grow and attract young talent. Rena Wang has experience across all scales of practices and project typologies having worked in the industry for a decade. She joins Nico Locane and Samuel Mok in having previously worked with the directors at Tzannes. Locane brings a passion for industrial design and the making of objects to the role, as well as experience tutoring at the University of Sydney, while Mok showcases a focus on house design and construction.
Sarah Yap, awarded the 2019 Architects Medallion, and Harry Kealy also have experience in university teaching and research, while Alexander Lim continues at EM BE CE having joined at the practice’s inception after working at Buchan.

HDR
Tim Napper is set to lead defence capability, joining from Australia’s Department of Defence at a critical juncture following this year’s Strategic Review. Napper becomes Principal with the brief of driving the defence agenda at the practice and will work between Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, supported by a senior leadership team comprising Stuart Aslett, Maurice Valentinuzzi, Alex Wessling, Huey Moo, Brendan Grayson, Michael Shelley and Design Principal Simon Fleet.
“It’s inspiring to be leading a team with such breadth and depth of industry experience,” says Napper. “With a cohort of emerging talent rising up the ranks, and an interconnected global defence, science and technology exchange, we can truly operate at the cutting-edge of design to deliver human-centred solutions. I’m looking forward to seeing our teams help to solve some of Defence’s most critical challenges and build workforce attractiveness.”
HOW
Victoria Harris joins as the new National Business Development Manager, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in various leadership roles. Harris is ready to chart a new course and lead the charge in expanding HOW’s reach on a national scale. Her ability to adapt, innovate, and deliver exceptional results has been a driving force in her career. Before joining HOW, Harris was Business Development Manager at CSM Office Furniture.
Studio P3
As we , Peter McCamley has joined forces with former Geyer and GroupGSA colleague, Pablo Albani, to form Studio P3. It’s an interdisciplinary design consultancy that is set to focus on workplace and more, with a stated aim of sparking a difference in the industry.
“We strongly feel that, at this point in the industry, there’s a real need and incredible opportunity for creativity. That might be creative thinking in terms of how business can tap into people, the adoption of informative physical environments and the influence that has on our social consciousness,” says McCamley. “Now, more than ever, there’s a richness in all industries around difference and we wanted to be part of that,” he adds.
Hames Sharley
Senior Associate Alex Quin has been appointed to the role of Northern Territory Studio Leader, bringing his passion for creating meaningful connections to place through his empathetic leadership style. As co-chair of Hames Sharley’s Reconciliation Committee, Alex played a significant role in delivering the practice’s ‘Reflect’ Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
“At a time when so many Australians are focused on building a better-connected and brighter future across our country, Alex is well-positioned to drive transformative change for our clients and the communities they serve,” says Hames Sharley Managing Director, Caillin Howard. “With his broad personal and professional experience working closely with Aboriginal communities, he understands local sensitivities and leads collaborative solutions that are to the benefit of all involved.”
Quin adds: “What really excites me is increasing our work in the defence, health, and education sectors, harnessing our capability to deliver diverse spaces due to our national, interdisciplinary approach. My father grew up on a sheep station in Marble Bar, Australia’s hottest town, and we were very close to the Aboriginal community who also lived there. Many are still friends and I enjoy visiting them and learning from them when I can.”
OCULUS
Jack Qian joins as Associate Director with over 15 years of international landscape architecture and urban design experience, having led multi-disciplinary design practices in Australia and China. Qian, pictured below (centre) with colleagues at the OCULUS Sydney, joins an established Australian leadership team and will be based in the Sydney studio while working closely with clients, collaborators and team members in Melbourne and Canberra.
“I’m very pleased to be returning to my hometown of Sydney and joining an esteemed group of like-minded people at OCULUS,” says Qian. “This year marks a grand milestone of 30 years since the practice’s establishment, and I look forward to continuing the journey with our local and international collaborators.”
Zip Water
Zip Water, leading designer and manufacturer of instant boiling, chilled and sparkling filtered water solutions, has announced the appointment of Vivian Zurlo as Marketing and Innovation Director ANZ. The role will see her lead strategic marketing initiatives across commercial, residential and service channels.
“Zurlo has extensive experience in brand growth, commercial marketing, and digital transformation, championing best in class customer experiences and a strong insight-driven innovation culture, all of which strongly align with our values,” says Mike Abbott, Managing Director ANZ.
Zurlo herself adds: “I’m delighted to be joining what is a fantastic team at an exciting point in the Zip Water story.
