This project was based on a constant duality: between the search for space and limited volume, tradition and modernity, collaborative living and individual spaces. To embody Zenchef’s strong DNA, we came up with a design concept based around food. The use of natural materials and colours – jute, bamboo and vegetation – had a double objective: it brought warmth and authenticity to the space, but also concealed the entire air-conditioning network in the ceilings. Redesigning the open space, creating a huge hybrid meeting room/lounge and phone boxes were the key solutions that enabled us to create spaces to share ideas and work differently. The transformation of carpets into rugs and the subtle touches of colour in the rooms also helped to create a feeling of ‘being at home’, while enhancing the beauty of this Haussmanien building, right in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. The redevelopment of this 500m2 site was a success, the massive return of employees to the office testifies.
