We recently hosted the INDE.Award Shortlist Breakfast, a gathering held at the reimagined Art Deco Kimpton Margot Hotel. The event brought together an eclectic array of industry professionals, including shortlisted candidates, partners and jury members. With a few attendees traveling from as far as Tasmania and Melbourne, the widespread appeal and significance of the revered INDE.Awards, that recognise a diverse range of bold and visionary architecture and design in the Indo-Pacific, were evident.

A morning of celebration and connection

INDE Program Director Jan Henderson praised the talent and creativity of the nominees in her speech and discussed the impetus behind the scenes before hosting a casual interview with two past INDE.Award winners. Luke Moloney Architecture who won The Interior Space category at the 2023 INDE.Awards, while Charles Wilson for Tait won The Object category at the 2022 INDE.Awards for Zephyr Lounger. Their personal insights and experiences added a unique dimension to the event.

The venue was a fitting choice. The Kimpton Margot Hotel, with its rich heritage and Art Deco design, provided the ideal backdrop for designers, aficionados and industry experts to convene. The atmosphere was electric as guests mingled, networked and enjoyed the camaraderie. Mimosas flowed freely, and a selection of delectable pastries offered a delightful treat for everyone.
