Designing a Productive and Enjoyable Office: A Headquarters in Istanbul Maslak
In the heart of Istanbul’s bustling Maslak district, a one-story management office in Maslak42 was conceived to serve as the headquarters for a dynamic company looking to make a bold move to a more centralized location. The goal of the project was clear: create an office space that not only enhances productivity but also fosters a more enjoyable and comfortable work environment for employees and company leaders alike.

Prioritizing Comfort and Daylight
The design process focused heavily on two main criteria: Elegant comfort and maximizing natural daylight. These were seen as essential elements for ensuring a healthy, engaging, and productive work environment. To meet these needs, the space was carefully planned to allow as much daylight as possible to permeate the circulation and working areas. The inclusion of VIP zones was also a key aspect of the design, where the company owners could entertain special guests in an elegant, yet functional setting.

Strategic Use of Space
The layout of the office reflects a thoughtful approach to both aesthetics and functionality. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a reception area positioned at an angle to optimize natural light flow throughout the space. This strategic placement helps flood the interior with daylight, which extends into the central areas of the office, including the open workspaces and circulation zones.

A clever use of transparent glass dividers with wooden poles separates the VIP areas from the more active workspaces. These partitions, while visually lightweight, maintain privacy and sound separation without compromising on the overall flow of the design. Additionally, a “bar area” was incorporated as a multifunctional zone where staff can relax, collaborate, or work independently, further enhancing the office’s flexible atmosphere.

Material Palette and Design Details
The office’s interior design draws on a sophisticated material palette, with dark natural stone flooring as the main feature. The matte finish of the stone contrasts beautifully with the warmth of laminated wooden parquet, creating a sense of calm and refinement. Dark-polished wood paneling and textured wallpaper contribute to the overall aesthetic, while special lighting fixtures placed on the floor and walls emphasize the richness of the materials and create a serene, harmonious atmosphere.

Natural stone with subtle veining was used in key areas to enhance the office’s visual appeal while ensuring that the work environment remains tranquil and focused. The careful selection of materials also plays a part in providing a balanced contrast between the darker tones and lighter, more luminous elements in the space.

Innovative Ceiling and Mechanical Installations
One of the most notable features of the design is the integration of mechanical installations within the circulation areas, allowing for greater flexibility and height within the workspace. This approach enhances the feeling of openness and spaciousness throughout the office. In executive rooms, wooden ceiling panels were designed to seamlessly blend with the wall coverings, creating a unified aesthetic while accommodating necessary mechanical systems.

Energizing the Space with Color
To infuse the office with energy and vitality, the company’s corporate color—orange—was strategically incorporated into the open office areas. This vibrant hue injects a sense of dynamism into the space, creating an atmosphere that is both stimulating and motivating for employees.

Conclusion
The new headquarters in Istanbul Maslak represents a perfect blend of style, functionality, and comfort. From the carefully planned layout to the thoughtful use of materials and lighting, every element of the design works to support a productive and enjoyable work experience. By focusing on natural light, innovative space planning, and an energizing color scheme, the office becomes more than just a place to work—it becomes a space that inspires creativity, collaboration, and efficiency.
