Located in Istanbul’s prestigious Levent business district, our AstraZeneca office project embodies a modern design approach that aligns with the principles of Activity-Based Working (ABW). Spanning three floors, we prioritized user experience, blending corporate identity with dynamic spatial solutions. Each floor was carefully curated to foster human interaction, connectivity, and productivity while integrating sustainability at its core. With flexible layouts, modular furniture, and diverse work zones, we ensured adaptability to different work styles and team needs.
On the 17th floor, we designed the primary entrance to lead seamlessly into a reception area, visitor lounge, and various meeting rooms, transitioning into collaboration and communication zones. These areas encourage informal interaction, short-term work, and social activities, while the concentration zone, positioned farthest from the bustling connection areas, provides a quiet space for focused tasks. The 18th floor, dedicated to management, features a prestigious boardroom, an executive lounge area, different scale-type enclosed meeting rooms, phone booths and open office area. The 19th floor, which functions as a collaborative hub, includes a café, a town hall, and multifunctional meeting spaces to promote both teamwork and social interaction. Additionally, two wellbeing rooms are located on this floor—one incorporating biophilic elements to enhance employee well-being and the other featuring advanced technological elements, including a large screen and a sound system that plays calming ambient sounds to create a soothing atmosphere.
Sustainability was a cornerstone of our design approach. We selected eco-friendly materials, integrated energy-efficient systems, and incorporated biophilic elements such as natural light and greenery to enhance the office environment. We also strategically placed recycling points throughout the office and ensured the design adhered to global sustainability certifications like LEED. Prioritizing accessibility and inclusivity, we integrated diverse cultural elements, designed furniture catering to different body types, and developed branding visuals representing all races, genders, and ages.
Flexibility was central to our approach. We designed movable walls, modular furniture, and adaptable layouts that allow spaces to transform easily, accommodating evolving business needs. We also emphasized acoustic comfort, utilizing sound-absorbing materials to create a productive and comfortable workspace. By creating a dynamic layout that promotes movement, we encouraged employees to utilize various zones throughout the day, fostering collaboration, creativity, and well-being.
With the AstraZeneca Levent Office, we have delivered a workplace that harmonizes sustainability, functionality, and inclusivity. Through thoughtful planning and innovative solutions, we have created a transformative environment that supports both individual focus and collective synergy.
