Olivia Thebaut probably has one of the most soothing, therapeutic homes I’ve come across so far. During this wet and wintry slog, I found myself completely relaxed by looking through all the shots of the photographer’s airy and perfectly relaxed home in the Médoc region of France, where Olivia lives with her husband, Julien, and their son, Joseph. The house sits 20 minutes from the Atlantic ocean and is surrounded by vineyards, and I love how their interiors reflect both the understated and breezy energy of beachside living and the sophisticated, Old World patina of a traditional French chateau. How lovely are those time-worn walls, exposed rafter ceilings, and chippy, clay tiles?? Well, it’s good to be back from the holiday break, and I hope you had a beautiful, joyful December and that your holidays weren’t too hectic — and that maybe you even had moments as relaxing as that very last hammock shot!
