Central Cervecera is a company that fosters the growth of its employees and values the users of its products. To ensure its spaces reflected this DNA, it undertook the renovation of its offices with the idea of creating a heart within the space—a core that would evoke the essence of its services and inspire new ways of engagement.
That heart is called “El Petaco,” the guiding concept of the entire proposal. In Colombia, “petaco” is the colloquial term for plastic bottle crates, and its modular and functional nature, along with its cultural significance, became the trigger for the project’s aesthetic and spatial narrative. This is how “Petaco, modules that unite us” was born—a vision that gained strength through materiality and spatial configuration. Inspired by an industrial pub-like atmosphere, the design leveraged the building’s existing structure—beams and joists—that directly interact with the office’s identity and the desired ambiance.
One of the main challenges was reusing much of the existing furniture, glass partitions, doors, and other elements without compromising the new design intent. Likewise, keeping the technical equipment in place required coordinated work to achieve an organized and functional space.
The greatest achievement of this proposal was the harmonization of three fundamental values: the company’s cultural identity, the recognition of human talent, and the creation of an innovative environment that reflects how AEI SPACES understands and transforms architecture.
