this week’s color story is all about shiny pretty objects d’ art — brass, mirror, glass, and chrome specifically, but maybe a bit of vintage copper and gold thrown in for good measure — all shining with glittering reflections of light. i especially love metallic-faced furniture and a well-placed mirror to capture candlelight. metallics add such a lovely design detail that only gets better with age — i always love a good patina, don’t you? here’s a look at some current favorites i’ve found —  home accessories, furnishings, and rooms filled with pretty shiny details that also act as works of art. a mid-century modern chrome-legged chair, a beautiful ornate mirror reflecting your room back to you — even big bold disco balls that never seem to go out of style. all these lovely things that continue to shine on and on and just get better with age.
