Similarly, bees create and follow organic tracks of scent, light and sweetness across the landscape. Between landscape and hive there is a symbiosis, which when mapped creates evocative patterns and interconnections.

The new Pathmakers Collection of carpet planks from GH Commercial, designed by Mohawk Group, to celebrate and explore these themes of connection, community and care. The aesthetic began with looking deeply into the natural systems that quietly support our world in the form of interactions between pollinators and the landscape.

Nature’s movement, rhythm and interdependencies were evoked for rendering into textile form. Considered interplays of colour inspired by the intricate pollination paths of bees and the superb structural intricacy of beehives create a mesmerising, nurturing result.

Each Australian-made carpet plank embodies the small, purposeful paths that create thriving ecosystems, with two distinct sub-collections adding flexibility and design diversity.

Pathmakers Textures mimics the foundation of a thriving hive, through the story of steady structures that support collective movement and shared spaces. Organic, tonal variations create cohesion and bring a sense of calm for interiors including commercial workplaces and education settings.

The variations echo natural textures of the landscape and its varied terrain, ornamented by purposeful, subtle trains of daily movement. The wide range of colours and the complementary pattern geometry of either Buzzing Trails or Gentle Ground in the carpet plank form enables designers to create zones and deliver a seamless visual continuity on the ground plane.

Pathmaker Patterns is a more dynamic interpretation of the theme, with expressive and illustrative references to the visible pathways of pollinators and the hexagonal forms of honeycomb geometry. Movement, direction, energy and visual interest are highlighted in iterations that are complementary with the Textures range.

Concrete Bloom and Pollinator Path both align with design aspirations including delivering wayfinding cues, enhancing zoning and reflecting the journeys and connections that occur when spaces are brought to life. Creative storytelling with flooring becomes possible, in a way that is inherently aligned with the natural world and biophilic principles.

Manufactured in Australia using Pattern Perfect® technology and Duracolor® Tricor yarn, Pathmakers Collection carries Declare® Red List Free certification from the Living Future Institute, which means no red list chemicals of concern are present. It also enhances the suitability of the products for environments where human wellbeing truly matters.
