DRAFT, which moved its base to Minami-Aoyama in December 2022, now occupies a new building with 5 floors facing Aoyama-dori and overlooking the area from Shinjuku to Roppongi. Believing that real-life experiences in physical spaces can bring richness and comfort to people’s lives, we have created a diverse and colorful workplace for the next generation during our expansion, moving away from a neutral office space.
One of the first things established in the design process were the five theme colors. The base color is white, and the colors of each floor appear in areas cut off from the base, such as the skeleton ceiling and box seats.
The design combines different materials such as wood, stone, metal, glass, and fabric, while considering the compatibility of each color: pink, turquoise, orange, navy, and black. Despite being distinct locations, the DNA is shared: From the cafe counter at the entrance, which serves as the center of activity, to the open tables for casual discussion, to the focus booths for occasional seclusion, the space has a sense of unity, yet it is designed to accommodate individual work styles. Furthermore, the use of materials made from recycled resources is environmentally friendly. Our office is a provocative and playful space that could only be realized by a design firm.
