i’ve long been a fan of berkeley-based designer Erica Tanov’s clothing line, but were you aware she’s also created some beautiful homeware collections? her new lovebirds home collection has been re-released just in time for spring. The Lovebirds collection was initially created as a clothing collection and then was relaunched with the addition of a Home collection a few years later and the popularity of the print encouraged the current re-release. The striking pattern itself was inspired by a vintage silk hand-embroidered dress of Chinese origin, featuring a pair of love birds perched on peony-type trees. the lovebird collection includes hand-stitched soft cotton quilts, duvet covers and pillowcases, pillows, and tablecloths and napkins. the fabric is now also available by the yard in limited quantities at Erica Tanov bay area boutiques and online, affording you savvy home sewers unlimited options from stitching up spring frocks to your own home goods like pillows and curtains.
