’tis that time of year when we start contemplating our thanksgiving centerpieces and how divinely we’ll set our dinner tables for the annual feasting! i myself will be in paris by myself where they don’t celebrate america’s favorite feeding festival, so i’ll be having a brioche or a baguette or something very french while you’re feasting with family. but i can live vicariously through these beautiful tablescapes and flowery fall foliage. when it comes to getting ideas for setting the holiday table there are all kinds of great resources out there — either for ordering an arrangement up from your favorite florists or visiting their websites for inspiration. many of today’s florists teach floral design workshops too, and that’s something i think would lean towards the more relaxing end of the holiday spectrum — treat yourself to a floral class and then impress everyone with your new found skills — tulipina even has online workshops.
i also seek out inspiration from some perhaps unexpected sources — like once wed or style me pretty — wedding sites and even wedding photographer’s sites and lifestyle photographers like luisa brimble have grand ideas for creating your floral arrangements (and maybe not just traditional floral ideas but unique creations like the amazing hanging piece just above from our food stories, or adding edibles like fruit — persimmons or apples, anyone?). no matter what you do, i hope it’s fun, festive and puts you in a thankful mood for celebrating with family and friends.
