A few posts ago, I shared some Spring kitchen inspiration, and with the weather warming up even more, I’m now inspired to share some Spring tablescape ideas. I love cooking for friends and family and throwing any dinner party they’ll allow me to. When I lived in Echo Park, my friends jokingly called my home The Restaurant, and I was happy for it to be considered as such. I cooked them everything from my big salads to something we called the miracle chicken (we called it that because whenever I made this particular roast chicken for potential boyfriends, they usually stuck around a few years) to just about anything from the Ottolenghi Cookbooksthey’re all full of really flavorful recipes, and not one has ever failed me. I’ve yet to entertain a ton since moving to Laguna, but those few feasts for new friends here have been most excellently memorable.

Living La Dolce Vita.

Besides cooking the meal, what I really enjoy is setting a welcoming and pretty table. I get that from my mum, who was an original Martha and who always used the good china when guests were coming over, and who said to me in her final days with us, “No fucking paper plates at my funeral.“ I kid you not—she made me promise. That was my mother to a T. But I digress, back to setting the table. I especially love dining and serving al fresco when the weather allows, and the idea of spring soirees and future summer dinner parties have inspired these somewhat whimsical tablescape ideas.
