Gravity Media, the world leading global provider of complex live creative production and media services, embarked on a journey to redesign and relocate their office space to accommodate bespoke production facilities like ATP Media Studios and their expanding client base, which included major sporting events like the ATP Tour and Formula E. Gravity Media envisioned a state of the art, future-focused Production Centre with highly-specialist technical facilities.
Oktra’s design team supported Gravity Media for nearly two years, working through multiple schemes for different buildings before settling on The Westworks. This close collaboration allowed for the alignment of the design with the client’s vision and operational needs.
The Production Centre was envisioned as a creative and technology-leading media hub made up of production, post-production, and live studios. The workspace also needed to reflect the brand’s image while providing an environment conducive to innovation and collaboration.
The design focuses on creating a space that optimises technical functionalities and meets Gravity Media’s requirements for high-quality production, and the layout is shaped by the need for efficient technical rooms, studios, galleries, and editing suites. Equipped with best-in-class technology, the space is designed to support both on-premise and distributed remote production workflows.
The scheme incorporated advanced technological solutions such as a data centre, live broadcasting and recording studios, LV infrastructure upgrades, generators, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), and supplementary cooling systems.
This next-generation Production Centre enables Gravity Media to better serve their clients’ needs and continue their growth trajectory, while positioning them as a leader in the media production industry.
