While over-styled, trend-driven spaces have become de rigueur lately, there is something to be said for simple surroundings — for clearing the visual field and letting a space breathe. With minimal clutter and a restrained hand, these rooms can pack a punch in the most subtle of ways.

Call me crazy but I’ve been feeling the need to really scale things back lately. My eye has been drawn to simplicity and the trendy, maximalist rooms that once caught my eye are no longer doing it for me. Give me white walls, wood tones, and a little bit of outdoors brought in and I am one happy camper.
