For childcare organization Kibeo, a new headquarters was realized in Goes, bringing together three existing service offices into one central workplace environment. The project responds to the organization’s continued growth and multiple acquisitions, creating a workspace that strengthens connection while supporting future development and a unified identity.

The interior concept is built around the balance between two worlds: the world of children and that of a professional organization. Rather than translating this theme literally, the design introduces a mature workplace environment with subtle references to Kibeo’s child-centered identity. The organization’s core values — growth, togetherness, and trust — formed the foundation for the spatial concept.

Kibeo’s brand colors were reinterpreted into warmer, more natural tones inspired by the Zeeland landscape of dunes, beaches, and evening skies. Wood finishes, soft materials, and abundant planting create a calm and approachable atmosphere throughout the office. Rounded forms, derived from the architecture of the building itself, are consistently integrated into glass partitions, ceilings, flooring details, and custom-made furniture elements.

The compact nature of the building required careful spatial planning. Early layouts were based on a traditional cellular office structure, but the design process explored ways to introduce greater openness without creating a fully open-plan office. Glass partitions maintain acoustic separation while preserving visual connections between departments, allowing the workspace to feel transparent and connected. Continuous color accents in the flooring and ceilings strengthen orientation throughout the building and visually enlarge the compact floor plates.

Connection and interaction play a central role within the headquarters. Pantry areas were strategically positioned in the center of each floor plan, functioning as natural meeting points within the circulation routes. The fourth floor was designed as a flexible brasserie with a rooftop terrace — an informal environment that supports gathering, collaboration, and larger team events throughout the workday.
