In 2026 the theme, Nature Weave, will see exhibitors explore the integration of nature into design where the interconnected relationship between people, culture and natural systems can support and enhance design.

Highlights include a curated spotlight on the Philippines, the 360° Design Dialogues talks programme, the return of successful initiatives such as Waste to Wonder and Architecture in Scale, and the new Project Benih. This latter is a Jia CURATED initiative focused on artisans and designers – nurturing experimentation and shared learning, it involves participants from Indonesia, Japan and Taiwan.

Architecture in Scale returns after its successful debut in 2025 with 25 architectural models that explore the intersection of craft and design from leading practices in Indonesia and across Asia. There will be works from such luminaries as Alexis Dornier, Andra Matin, Chang Yong Ter, Daliana Suryawinata and Florian Heinzelman, Elora Hardy, I Ketut Dirgantara and Yuni Utami, Kengo Kuma, Victor Jonathan and many more. To better experience the exhibition, Charmaine Chan, Design Editor at the South China Morning Post and curator of the exhibition, will lead a guided tour for visitors on 15th August.

Waster to Wonder 2.0 showcases the transformation of discarded materials into functional interventions across the grounds of the event. Ubiquitous materials such as Tyvek exhibition roofing and reclaimed cardboard tubes, through to timber and packaging crates, are reimagined as exhibition structures, wayfinding points, communal seating and outdoor furnishings. Overall, the creativity and innovation of designs will aim to set new precedents for sustainability and reuse.

An exclusive masterclass, V-Series — by Dutch artist and designer Sander Wassink and presented by method inc. — is a highlight. Working with locally sourced Balinese timber and the V-Series’ modular aluminium system, there is the opportunity for participants to build their own V.8.3 chair while gaining knowledge of local craftmanship and material innovation. Each completed chair can be taken home and, with limited places available, this is guaranteed to be a sell-out.

360° Design Dialogues curated by Design Anthology will return with a plethora of speakers and panels that represent voices from Indonesia and around the world. Talks will explore design and invite reflection, offer new insights and emphasise inclusivity and collaboration.

Each day as the sun sets there will be live music and cultural events. Traditional dance and contemporary performances along with bands and DJ sets will bring people together, to gather and connect while enjoying the creative forces of the region.

Jia CURATED is much more than the usual trade show. It promotes cultural exchange and displays the talent that resides in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia. It is an event that seeks to connect and unify designers, artists and makers and celebrates design at its best.

If you are in Bali, it is not to be missed and tickets for the event can be obtained online:
