Occupying 1,500 sqm across three floors of a renovated office building in Palaio Faliro, Athens, Stephenson Harwood’s new workplace was conceived as a contemporary environment that reflects the firm’s international identity while supporting the evolving demands of legal practice.

Delivered through a phased Design & Build process, the project enabled the firm’s relocation without disrupting day-to-day operations. The first phase focused on completing the reception and primary workplace areas, allowing the offices to become operational, while the second phase introduced the remaining workspaces together with a landscaped terrace, completing a unified workplace across the first, second and third floors.

The interior balances the formality expected of an international law firm with a warm, human-centred atmosphere. A sequence of spaces accommodates individual work, collaboration, client meetings and informal interaction, supported by a restrained material palette, integrated lighting and bespoke joinery that bring clarity, longevity and refinement to the interior. Flexible planning allows the workplace to evolve over time while maintaining a coherent spatial identity.

At the centre of the project is the double-height second floor, conceived as the workplace’s social and representational core. Bringing together the main reception, client-facing spaces and event facilities, it extends onto a landscaped terrace designed to host corporate gatherings and informal events, strengthening the connection between indoor and outdoor environments.

From concept design through technical development, procurement, construction and delivery, the project was managed under a Design & Build model to ensure consistency across every stage of implementation. The result is a workplace that combines operational efficiency with architectural clarity, creating an environment designed to support both the firm’s people and its clients over the long term.
