A new working environment was created for TARGOBANK in Mainz, covering around 3,500 m2 and offering approx. 200 remote workplaces. LESON GmbH accompanied TARGOBANK from the very beginning of the project through the entire planning process until completion, providing support through construction management. In close collaboration with the team, individual needs and wishes were identified through joint workshops right from the start, in order to develop a comprehensive space and furniture concept.
In the course of the project, the small-scale cell structure was replaced by an open working atmosphere that reflects the desire for a uniform corporate culture and open communication. The aim was to create an inspiring environment that promotes collaboration and at the same time offers a balanced range of individual retreat options.
For this purpose, focus zones were inserted between the individual work groups within the open spaces, visually and acoustically reducing the spacious work areas and providing an additional option for spontaneous, informal meetings. The arrangement of workstations, focus zones, and think tanks takes place within the four main parts of the building. The transverse corridors that connect these components promote communication between departments. These areas include team rooms, cafés, and meeting rooms, creating a lively working environment.
The new spatial concept creates zoning within the strict building layout through soft, flowing spatial boundaries within the open areas. Textile acoustic curtains, as well as the holistically planned furniture concept, ensure a balanced relationship between open, agile zones and closed retreat spaces.
The materiality, color scheme, and flowing transitions significantly shape the space – aligning with the approach of biophilic design and the idea of transferring organic and harmonious forms into the space.
