The former multi-tenant office on Lange Kleiweg in Rijswijk has undergone an impressive transformation in just ten months. From an outdated office building to a dynamic and future-proof working environment that brings companies and organisations together. The Den is more than a workplace; it is an environment in which connection, flexibility and experience are central.

As a Design & Build party, Ditt was responsible for both the design and full execution of this extensive project.

A vision of tomorrow’s working environment
The Den was developed with a clear vision: to create a place where professionals not only work, but also meet grow and relax. This calls for an innovative approach to office concepts, where experience and functionality go hand in hand.

During the renovation, we focused on creating an open and hospitable environment in which interaction between users is central. A major structural modification completely opened up the entrance, resulting in a spacious and inviting reception hall. At the heart of the atrium, a beautiful Italian coffee bar has been realised, a meeting place where informal conversations and spontaneous collaborations arise.

Additionally, the design includes several adaptable work and meeting areas, premium meeting facilities, and a contemporary lunch space featuring an open kitchen. The gym has also been completely renovated, giving users a place not only to work, but also to relax and recharge physically and mentally.

A dynamic ‘square’ concept
The design of The Den is inspired by the idea of a city square – a vibrant place where people come together. Interior Designer Willemijn Ooteman of Ditt Officemakers explains:

‘By incorporating the square concept, we have created an environment where users can meet and collaborate in an informal way. The Den is much more than a workplace; it is a space for connecting, meeting and sharing experiences.’

The space radiates warmth, modern luxury and an open inviting atmosphere.

Smart technology and the future
A progressive office concept requires smart technology. That is why The Den offers visitors and tenants the opportunity to experience the various floors digitally. Using VR glasses, future users can already get an impression of the flexible workspaces and the many possibilities the building offers.

In addition, the building features various technological innovations in the field of sustainability, climate control and smart workplace reservations.

A collaboration with impact
Bringing The Den to life was an intensive and productive process full of potential, during which various partners combined their expertise. From the initial design phase to final delivery, the cooperation with MMZ Properties, RBM Real Estate, CBRE and all parties involved was essential for the success of this project.

We are proud of the final result: a future-proof, sustainable and inspiring building that perfectly meets the changing needs of modern organisations. The Den showcases how a former single-tenant office building can be transformed into a vibrant working and meeting environment for multiple users!
