we all love the classic little black dress, but what about the little black dresser? or the always great looking black cabinet? it’s a keeper, too — the trusty wardrobe you can dress up or dress down. i have not just one, but two black cabinets and i love them. one is a vintage dresser, found for super cheap. i added a couple of coats of satin black paint to it and the rich black color it has now kind of makes up for the lack of the wood quality. the other is my tall black bookcase, from and, i really like placing my books, collectibles, and artwork on and against that black palette — it just seems to make everything look a little bit more stylish and sophisticated. i’ve even had black dressers in and they look unexpected but great there, too. give it a try on any old dresser you’ve got that needs a little facelift — add a coat of paint (i like in a satin finish) and even some fresh — it’s super easy and a dramatically different before and after.
