i’ve always thought it so cool how we can use color as a reflector of what’s going on in our culture. each year, color creators at pantone release their , and as you may know, in 2016 they chose not just one, but two colors: . it could be amongst chaos we as a culture sought out comfort in the soothing pastel hues we surround ourselves with. i was curious as to who, and how they come up with these definite choices. turns out it’s just a handful of the most prestigious color experts and a whole lot of trend forecasting.
for 2017? they are predicting a color they’ve deemed a yellowish-green tone. is it possible we are seeking escapism through this exotic color? more doses of bright happiness? in the words of pantone: it promises longevity, endurance, and health.
