i’ve visited Lisbon twice now, but thus far, my heart has only grown fonder for it as i stumble across more and more design gems — the city is just full of food served with a heavy dose of charm. the sweet little coffee shop a luz ideal is no different and is immediately going on our must hit places when we do finally make a return to Portugal. its owner teresa, and her architect husband are responsible for this adorable spot. its dreamy tiles remind us of old world lisbon, while the cheeky art brings us back to the now. oh, and in case you were wondering what a luz ideal means, it directly translates to the ideal light — so let’s stop in for a morning cup of coffee, and some sweet treats in our transitional fall to winter ensemble (it’s kind of nice to layer up again!). we’re going colorfully casual today, but a little bit spunky, with some cozy layered sweaters, a classic denim jacket, some very fun plaid pants, paired with my favorite bensimon sneakers. don’t forget to toss your immune boost, an all-important face mask, and a great read into this cute backpack. nothing seems more fitting for a morning spent here with our read this there Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann is the author’s most ambitious novel yet: a dazzlingly rich vision of the pain, loveliness, mystery, and promise of New York City in the 1970s — i just finished this book and it really captures the spirit of America in a time of transition, extraordinary promise, and, in hindsight, heartbreaking innocence. i highly recommend this read!
