one of my go-to recommendations for places to stay in los angeles is in DTLA’s old Broadway District. architecture is kind of my thing, and i especially love looking up when cruising around downtown. the older buildings are beauties, and at was built by Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin, and Douglas Fairbanks, as their way to take back creative control from the big movie industry — if you’ve never been inside, i highly suggest attending there. was designed by keeping intact the 1902’s facade but respectfully giving a vintage-modern vibe to the interiors. wandering around the arts district and perhaps checking out a few of the city’s great museums ( is nearby) is a favorite of mine, so we’re packing light and very casual, and layering up because you just never know with L.A. winters, in an , ribbed black , (it’s spring in california!), and comfy for walking. when you take a break from exploring the city, might i suggest reading by John Buntin? it’s one of those juicy, dark-sided novels about Midcentury Los Angeles — a land of sunshine and orange groves, and Hollywood stars. but into this metropolis come two men — one of L.A.’s most notorious gangsters, the other its most famous police chief, each prepared to battle the other for the soul of the city.

wear this there: PONCHO in BLACK ON WHITE; Slim perfect ribbed long-sleeve T-shirt; Vintage straight jean in white with exposed buttons; chunky derby shoes; Leo Socks; Billie Suede Card Case; read this there by John Buntin; Vintage pajama set; weekender tote bag; Home State Charm Bracelet; Sunglasses; WYETH
Dylan Rancher Hat; black Fanny Pack.
