we’re headed to south carolina today to a beautiful old spot originally built in 1896 which once housed a post office, a residential home, a retail shop, and most recently reimagined into a charming restaurant and inn design studio by sdco partners. welcome to post house, where we’ll check in for a weekend away in this coastal tavern and boutique inn located in mount pleasant offering seasonal fare, classic cocktails (their bloody mary looks amazing), seven cozy hotel rooms, and a bit of salty fresh air. situated in the heart of the old village, post house is a home away from home for staycationers and travelers alike, a charming respite from the day-to-day hustle. let’s settle into the slow-paced and southern seaside village life, shall we?

we’re going to dress with the post’s rather nautical vibes this week, so i’ve packed you a few mix and match ensembles. a striped breton tee over a white buttondown blouse and double-breasted peacoat worn with faded bluejeans, a chunky knit cap, fun parisian-inspired tote bag and comfy red sneakers. for another look, pair the blazer and jeans with a striped bustier and strappy sandals and add a cute red clutch. one more look for evening is this sexy red silk slip dress, sassy clutch, dressed up with the low-heeled sandals. i’ve packed you some pj’s and a favorite novel of mine: demon copperhead by barbara kingsolver, set in southern appalachia, it’s the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. a true american tale of hope and redemption.
