we’re headed way off the beaten path on this week’s . who else could use a little escapism this week? yeah, me, too! we’re headed to the canary islands, to a small but charming boutique hotel, in an area called Punta del Hidalgo, located on the northern coast of Tenerife — a stone´s throw from the sea and a few minutes walk from mountainous terrain. i’ve never heard of it before, either, but it sure looks worth visiting. it’s in a small coastal fishing village that’s much more than that — known for its beautiful natural seawater pools and a surfers’ paradise with good waves, and real getting-way-from-it-all vibes. is a modernist, minimalist resort where the natural beauty of its landscape does all the showing off. we’re packing light and very casually but with more than a few chic outfit options. i’ve included a fun and a couple of to mix and match with both the skirt and some . add to that some great , a , and , and naturally a very cute (i had to order this one for myself — the danger in writing these posts!), and some . i think we’ll read one of joan didion’s best this week, . it’s a very powerful book about her attempt to make sense of her ideas about death, illness, marriage and children, memory, and ultimately about life itself.
