well, today is something just a little bit different! we’re stepping into the golden and glamourous age of train travel and hopping aboard a very magical . a belmond train carriage designed by none other than my favorite filmmaker , who has reimagined a , specifically the Cygnus—a carriage, part of the Belmond Train experiences. with his passion for craftsmanship and symmetrical modern design the new layout of the Cygnus car has been entirely thought out by Wes who says “I love trains! I had many opportunities to invent train compartments for my films, so when I was asked to do it in real life, I said ‘yes’ without hesitation”. This car dating from the 1920s is unveiled in an art nouveau style with aesthetics and colors faithful to those of the American filmmaker. Two new coupés – which can accommodate up to four people – allow you to experience an intimate journey with Champagne flowing afloat until the finish. departing from London, it’s one of just eleven on the British Pullman, whose carriages have hosted royalty, carried statesmen, and survived World War II bomb raids over the years. we’re going ‘full-on wes’ with an adorable i think he’d approve of, along with a , , and . pair that with a chic , , and . don’t forget this ! as you leisurely roam the English countryside on board, i suggest checking out by ian nathan which is loaded with rich imagery and detailed analysis of Wes’s incredible films — like the train-centric for example. aaaalllll aboard!!
