Data#3’s Melbourne workplace demonstrates that a digital-first environment can be technologically expressive without losing its human character. Guided by the concept of Digital Pulse, organisational identity is embedded within the architecture rather than applied as a surface layer, allowing brand, performance and experience to become one.

Designed for a 140-person hybrid workforce, the workplace moves beyond a conventional office layout to create an activity-based environment shaped around the way people move, connect and work throughout the day. Reception leads into a central town hall and social hub, while dedicated focus and collaboration zones provide a balance of settings for concentrated work, informal exchange, meetings and larger team gatherings.

The planning strategy places enclosed built form towards the centre of the floorplate, freeing the perimeter for staff work settings and maximising access to natural light and uninterrupted views across Melbourne. Clear circulation and strong sightlines help create a workplace that feels open, intuitive and connected, while flexible multipurpose spaces allow the environment to adapt as the business evolves.

Data#3’s identity is expressed through materiality as much as planning. Its signature blue is woven throughout the fitout and balanced with warm timber, neutral tones, layered planting and considered lighting. At arrival, a feature reception wall abstracts digital data patterns into a defining architectural moment, with technology-inspired detailing continuing throughout the workplace. Indigenous storytelling is also integrated through artwork and spatial moments, bringing further depth and connection to the environment.

The result is a workplace that feels unmistakably Data#3: technologically expressive, highly functional and warm. More than a backdrop for work, it creates an environment where the organisation’s identity is experienced through everyday movement, interaction and connection.
