APES designed the Heineken Da Nang office as a vibrant open landscape, weaving the brand’s international DNA with local essence. Inspired by the coastal fishing villages of Da Nang, the design captures a spirit that is raw, free-spirited, and pulsating with energy.
The “fishing village” concept is subtly reinterpreted through a contemporary architectural language. At the heart of the office, a circular bar functions as the “harbor”—a familiar gathering point for the community. Its soft, rounded form evokes traditional basket boats, while the suspended ring lights above recall the image of the sun reflecting on the sea, creating a strong visual focal point and a sense of connection throughout the space.
The work areas are organized in an open layout, mirroring the fluid rhythm of life in a coastal village. Long communal desks suggest wooden piers and docks, encouraging interaction, collaboration, and the sharing of ideas. Abundant natural light floods the interior through large windows, opening up generous views and offering a sense of freedom and comfort, as if working amidst the open skies and seascapes of Central Vietnam.
A neutral color palette of grey, white, and light wood tones is applied consistently, complemented by Heineken’s signature green accents and lush greenery distributed throughout the office. Together, these elements evoke the hues of the sea, coastal vegetation, and the refreshing presence of nature. Exposed technical ceilings with neatly arranged services introduce a modern industrial character, while maintaining a sense of authenticity and warmth—reminiscent of the raw, honest structures of fishermen’s homes.
The pantry and bar areas are designed not only for breaks and refreshments, but also as social hubs for informal gatherings, idea exchanges, and internal events. Brand elements associated with Heineken are carefully integrated, reinforcing brand identity without disrupting the overarching local narrative of the design.
As such, the Heineken office is more than just a workplace; it is a miniature “village”—a place where people, nature, and brand coexist in balance. The space fosters connection, creativity, and a strong sense of community, faithfully reflecting Heineken’s DNA: open, contemporary, and deeply respectful of local values
