hello darkness, my old friend.

as i’m writing this, i’m listening to my favorite podcast, smartless, and they’ve got guest singer-songwriter paul simon on — thus my post title. it just felt apropos — you know the song, but that’s not what originally inspired it, however, and instead, the spooky month that is october. some of us who get really into it are prepping for the annual halloween decorations and costumes, and spiderwebs are showing up right on cue (too many of them this year!). i love interiors infused with black any time of year, but to get us further in the mood this month, i give you some very dark decor. black goes with everything, but most especially with bits of glimmer like gold and shades of gray, and is always a lovely contrast to soft white and neutrals.
