Ando himself adds: “I am honoured that MPavilion will remain in Queen Victoria Gardens as a place for the community to gather and reflect. Architecture is not only about buildings, it is about creating places for people and nature to coexist. My deepest thanks to Naomi Milgrom AC, a true champion of architecture, whose vision and generosity have made this possible.”
Over 2,500 members of the public signed an open letter in support of the proposal, alongside more than 100 artist and collaborator signatures, and 60 industry letters. The pavilion has also received international acclaim with ten global design awards. MPavilion by Tadao Ando will remain open and free for all to enjoy in the heart of the city and will reopen to the public soon.
