i’m sure much like me, you’re just craving a real holiday — i’d go almost anywhere at this point in the realm of never-ending covid, but let’s wish big and get out of the winter chill, shall we? let’s head to the Mediterranean coastline of the southeast corner of France to the incredible hotel that is les roches rouges on the fabulous french riviera. picture sixties slim aarons vibes, dining on the exquisite flavors of Provençal cuisine and wines, against an endless sea of blue, with loads of pure white and ochre yellow — not to mention long sunbaths beside les roches rouges’ seawater pool perched along the mythical, magical Côte d’Azur. designed with modern minimalism at its best, showing off all that incredible Mediterranean light — and your fabulous new tan, of course. ready? ouí, moi aussi. since we’re jetting away for at the very least a long, leisurely weekend i’ve put together some mix and match looks for you to pack. le bikini, but of course, and a charming striped cover-up and big sunnies, too (so french!). and we’re wearing white cuz it’s the south of france, so some stylish white pants, fashionable loafers, and a very french tee, naturally worn with a navy cotton blazer. i’ve tossed in a sleek black slip dresss, sandals, lots of fun baubles and a très chic headscarf for evenings, too. now a little something to read poolside — while this novel takes place on the italian riviera, i think it lends itself nicely to the french Côte d’Azur, as well. beautiful ruins by jess walter is the story of an almost-love affair that begins on the italian coast in 1962, and is dramatically rekindled in hollywood, california fifty years later — a story of flawed yet fascinating people, navigating the rocky shores of their lives while clinging to their improbable dreams. one of my favorite reads. bon voyage, my friends!
