alrighty, my friends, we’re popping across the pond to paradise today, but perhaps not the palm-lined beaches you might immediately think of. instead, we’re actually headed to lovely, old londontown — and another surprise, we are not eating traditional English food. instead, we’re having Sri Lankan cooking with contemporary, ingredient-focused cooking doused with a fiery island accent at Paradise soho. the dishes here are based on family recipes influenced by Portuguese, Malay, South Indian, and Dutch cuisine and served up in a very brutalist-inspired interior — think spare steel and concrete, but somehow still cozy and charming. we’re going casual and feminine today, but with a touch of unexpected tomboy in a leather jacket over a fun black graphic tee and pleated skirt paired with my favorite modern ballerina flat, hip belt bag, and cashmere beanie. for this overnight sojourn, don’t forget to pack your overnight bag with favorite pj’s and toss in Cereal’s London Guide from abrams books — london’s one of those cities that’s constantly updating itself, so read up, and off you go!
