it’s that time of year when it’s really nice to just hunker down with a good book. it’s chilly out and i’m much more keen on staying in bed or curling up on the sofa with a cozy throw, a cup of tea and a must-read. i read a lot this summer, too which was sublime — i can’t say enough positive things about getting off the internet for a while and escaping into a beautifully written book. a few books i really loved were a gentleman in Moscow, swimming lessons, along the infinite sea and the fact of a body.
and now as i hibernate a little bit this winter, i’m looking forward to reading The Revolution of Marina M. by Janet Fitch (i loved her book white oleander, so i’m really looking forward to reading this new one!). alsothe Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin sounds really interesting — based on the premise ‘If you knew the date of your death, how would you live your life?’. i’ve also picked up My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent (i’m terrible, i always buy like three books at once!). and I also hear a little life by Hanya Yanagihara is really excellent. have you read any of these? or have any other recommendations for us as we transform into winter bookworms? do tell!
