Caleb & Brown is a crypto brokerage that didn’t want to look like one. The brief was clear: no hyper-masculine tech aesthetic, no startup clichés. This is a professional services firm helping a diverse, mature demographic invest in an unfamiliar asset class, and the space had to communicate maturity and reliability without feeling stuffy or losing its edge.
The site set its own challenge. A long, naturally dark entry sequence runs from the lifts, so instead of fighting it, we leaned in. The front-of-house is warm and deliberate, not lit to mimic daylight it can’t have. Visitors arrive into intentional warmth.
The team was prioritised through the plan, with the two prime corners of natural light utilised for workstations rather than meeting rooms, a deliberate choice to energise the team daily. Cork tiered seating and other time-tested materials resist dating and extend the life of the fitout, placing sustainability inside the specification rather than adjacent to it.
Innovation came through tailored, use-specific moves. A walk-in back-of-house kitchen is concealed within a small floor plate, keeping appliances, food and mess out of the primary breakout so it can operate as a genuinely social, event-ready space. In the founder’s glazed office, a custom module integrates a screen and a whiteboard without introducing solid walls, preserving transparency while supporting the way he actually works.
Delivery was fully integrated with base-build construction. A 27-year-old Interior Designer was given full creative ownership, supported but not overwritten by senior staff, and has since been promoted to Project Lead.
