
if you’re following the clay scene around Los Angeles then you’ve likely come across the clean and refreshing forms from . we popped into their downtown studio for a little visit and chat with ceramicist originally from Vermont, peter and his wife relocated to Los Angeles a few years back but Peter still draws inspiration from his rustic New England roots. 
were you working elsewhere before leaving to start your business?
I worked for Whitefish Pottery in Whitefish, Montana.
was your new path motivated by a particular creative need or personal goal?
I’ve always loved making pottery. I realized it was a craft in which I could support myself and do what I love.



did you receive any particular advice that stood out when starting your own business?
Art is work.
where do you gain fuel that inspires your creative endeavors?
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and being outdoors.




what was the most unexpected aspect of putting together your business?
switching from a gas to an electric kiln.
what kind of vibe did you have in mind while designing the new studio space?
to function as a production workshop and a showroom.




what are some of your work tools that you can’t live without?
hands and sponge.
what are three books that changed your life?
john britt book on glaze, and lucie rie / hans coper masterwork by two british potters.
